Walt, the trading app inside Telegram, has named three winners of its #WalletIdeas community contest and will pay each 500 USDT, for a total of 1,500 USDT, TON Daily News reported on Oct. 29. The contest drew more than 1,000 comments with suggestions for the wallet and its trading features.
The winning proposals were virtual cards that would let users spend crypto balances through payment networks, a dedicated wallet for AI agents with controlled access to funds and automated transactions, and a security upgrade bundled with other improvements whose details were not published. A fourth user was singled out by Walt's chief technology officer for suggesting a standalone Walt app outside Telegram, although no cash prize was announced for that idea.
Walt said some suggestions came surprisingly close to features its team is already building but did not say which. None of the winning ideas has a confirmed development status or launch date. Rewards are due by the end of the following week, and the platform warned users about fake accounts that ask for fees or login details to release prizes.
Hints at the roadmap
The shortlist overlaps with areas where Walt is already active. Earlier in October it introduced an AI assistant for perpetual futures that requires users to confirm each trade, and it has since opened perpetual trading to outside AI agents, Unchained reported. A card product would push the custodial app closer to everyday payments.
Walt is the former Wallet in Telegram, which took its new name in late September as Telegram began rolling out Money, its own self-custodial wallet for Gram. The two now sit side by side: Money for holding and sending Gram, and Walt for trading a wider range of assets.
The prize warning reflects a steady stream of impersonation schemes around Telegram's crypto services. Russian daily Izvestia reported in August that registrations of phishing domains pairing words such as gram, wallet and gift with Telegram had risen tenfold.
