Strategy bought 267 BTC for just over $22 million last week, according to a filing disclosed on October 19, bringing its total holdings to 848,517 BTC. It was the company's third bitcoin purchase in October, following a 250 BTC buy for about $22 million the week before, and lifted its bitcoin spending this month to $73 million.

Bitcoin Magazine valued Strategy's holdings at $69.5 billion at current prices. The company has spent about $64 billion on bitcoin since it began buying in August 2020. In the same filing, Strategy said it had repurchased $193.1 million of its STRC preferred stock, which has traded below its $100 face value amid market volatility and index changes.

MSCI is moving ahead with a proposal to exclude non-operating companies from its global investable market indexes, which could remove Strategy and reduce institutional ownership of its shares. Glassnode noted that the final removal list is due November 11, with changes effective November 30. MSTR traded near $139 on October 19, down 17% over a month and 11% year to date.
