Chainlink has launched a pricing service that keeps reference prices for stocks, commodities and other traditional assets running through weekends and holidays, with Aave signed on as the launch partner, CoinDesk reported on Oct. 29. The oracle network said Aave will use the new feeds on Horizon, its lending platform for institutions.
The product, called Chainlink 24/7, addresses a basic mismatch: blockchains trade around the clock, but the assets behind tokenized stocks trade on fixed schedules. According to Chainlink, applications have until now either paused markets when exchanges closed, relied on the last available price, or built their own valuation models for the gap.
Futures fill the gap
The service combines regular and extended-session prices with quotes from perpetual futures venues once traditional markets shut. It aggregates quotes from several venues, filters stale inputs and limits the influence of outliers, then stitches the session data and the off-hours reference into one continuous price series per asset. Off-hours prices therefore reflect derivatives trading rather than a frozen closing level.
Lending protocols can pull the data through Chainlink's on-chain Data Feeds, while trading platforms and prediction markets can use Data Streams, which update faster and flag which market session is active.
Aave's Horizon lets qualified investors borrow against tokenized assets. The rollout will start with tokenized versions of heavily traded US stocks, according to the announcement.
The launch builds on the 24/5 pricing for US stocks and ETFs that Chainlink introduced in January 2026, which covers pre-market, regular, after-hours and overnight sessions. Chainlink said its weekday stock-pricing infrastructure already covers more than $1.6 billion in tokenized equities. Weekend coverage matters for lenders because collateral values can move sharply while traditional markets are closed, and a stale price can delay liquidations or trigger them unfairly.
